Let's get the conversation going! Here are a couple of "Would You Rather" questions:
Let's Dive Into Mark 1:14-20!

READ: Let's read the story for today!
Let's Dive Into Mark 1:14-20!

ASK: Let's talk about it together!
Why do you think Simon, Andrew, James, and John dropped everything so quickly to follow Jesus?
What do you think Jesus meant when He said He would make them "fish for people"?
Is there anything in your life that might be hard to leave behind or set aside if Jesus asked you to follow Him more closely?
What does it look like for us today to "follow" Jesus, even though He isn't physically walking beside us the way He was with the disciples?

ACTIVITY: Let's jump into this Outdoor (or, Indoor) Challenge!
Head outside for a simple "Come, Follow Me" game. Take turns being the leader who calls out "Come, follow me!" and walks, hops, or runs in a certain pattern around the yard while everyone else immediately drops what they're doing to follow along. Afterward, talk about how quickly the disciples responded to Jesus's call, and how it felt to immediately follow without hesitating. Wrap up by having each person share one way they can "follow" Jesus more closely this week, just like the fishermen did.
Let's close in prayer! Use this one, or say your own together.
Dear God, give us hearts that are quick to follow Jesus, even when it means leaving something behind. Amen.
