Why do you think the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted right after such a powerful, affirming moment at His baptism?
What do you think it means that angels attended to Jesus while He was in the wilderness with wild animals?
Jesus's message was "repent and believe the good news"! What do you think it means to repent, and why does it matter?
Have you ever gone through a hard or testing time right after a really good moment? What was that like?

ACTIVITY: Let's jump into this Outdoor (or, Indoor) Challenge!

Take a "Wilderness Walk" outside, choosing a slightly wilder or less-manicured area if you have access to one. A wooded path, an overgrown corner of the yard, or even just a walk noticing weeds and wild plants. Talk together about how Jesus faced testing in the wilderness but wasn't alone, since angels were with Him, and think of times you've felt tested but not truly alone either. Finish the walk by having each person share one thing they're ready to "repent" of or turn away from, and one piece of "good news" they're thankful for.
