Let's get the conversation going! Here are a couple of "Would You Rather" questions:
Let's Dive Into Matthew 22:15-22!

READ: Let's read the story for today!
Let's Dive Into Matthew 22:15-22!

ASK: Let's talk about it together!
Why do you think the Pharisees were trying to trap Jesus with this question instead of genuinely wanting to know the answer?
What do you think Jesus meant by "give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's"?
Can you think of things in our lives that belong to "Caesar" (like rules, responsibilities, or authorities we follow) versus things that belong fully to God?
Why do you think Jesus's answer surprised and amazed the people listening?

ACTIVITY: Let's jump into this Outdoor (or, Indoor) Challenge!
Take a family walk around your neighborhood and turn it into a "marks of authority" scavenger hunt, looking for signs that show who or what has authority over different parts of life — a street sign, a flag, a school, a church steeple, a stop sign. At each stop, pause and ask together: does this belong to "Caesar" (earthly rules and authorities) or does it point us to God? End the walk by finding one thing — a tree, the sky, a sunset — that reminds everyone that even the things Caesar claims authority over ultimately belong to God.
Let's close in prayer! Use this one, or say your own together.
Dear God, help us honor our responsibilities here on earth. Help us always remember that our hearts and lives ultimately belong fully to you. Amen!
